How It Works

Write
Use the included pencil to write on the plantable seed paper.

Plant
Place the seed paper in soil and cover it lightly, about an eighth of an inch deep.

Water
Water gently and keep the soil moist, damp but not overly wet.

Give it light
Set it somewhere bright and warm, like a sunny windowsill or garden spot.

Watch it bloom
Seeds usually sprout within one to three weeks. Keep watering gently and give it time.

A little planting guide
When you are ready, tear or fold the seed paper, place it in soil, and cover it lightly. Water gently, keep it near sunlight, and let the paper soften into the earth as the seeds begin to grow.

What is seed paper?
Seed paper is paper with seeds embedded inside it. After you write on it, you can plant it in soil, water it, and the paper will soften as the seeds begin to grow.
Can I give a Letter Garden kit as a gift?
Yes. Each kit is made to be given, whether someone is grieving, celebrating, beginning again, or simply needing a little tenderness. You can give it as a thoughtful gift on its own or tuck it into a larger care package.
What grows from each kit?
Becoming grows calendula. Homecoming grows sweet alyssum. Remembrance grows forget-me-nots. Glad Tidings grows wildflowers.
How long does it take to sprout?
Most seed paper begins to sprout within a few weeks, depending on the seeds, soil, light, water, and season. Like any garden, it asks for a little patience.
Can I plant it indoors?
Yes. You can plant your seed paper in a small pot indoors, as long as it gets enough light and the soil stays gently moist. A sunny windowsill is a good place to begin.
Is it eco-friendly?
The paper is plantable and made to return to the soil instead of being kept in a drawer or thrown away. We keep the kits simple, useful, and low-waste wherever we can.
What if it does not sprout?
Seeds are living things, and sometimes they can be particular. Light, water, soil, temperature, and timing all make a difference. Even if the paper does not sprout, the ritual still counts: you wrote the words, planted them with care, and gave them somewhere to go.
